The IRSP conducts research on a costs covering basis. Research conducted by the IRSP entails the following:

• Regular meetings with the researchgroup, guiding professors and research partner
• Workshops
• Fieldstudies 
• Documentation of interviews
• Trip reports based on the visit
• Blogs
• Final report
• Recommendations 
• Presentation of final report to the University and Partner

The IRSP conducts three different assignments every year. The research process will run from December until the end of May. In this period, a research group of four  to six IRIO students will investigate a topic adduced by the partner.

26- 30 November:                                       Start student selection procedure
Week 49:                                                       Introduction research group(s) with each other and IRSP board.
                                                                        First contact with Partner. 
                                                                        Start reading on the subject.
January:                                                         Research will continue.
                                                                        Workshop 1
February:                                                       First feedback Partner and Professor.
                                                                        Fieldtrip (destination and length differs per research)
March:                                                            Fieldtrip
                                                                        Second feedback.
April:                                                               Third feedback.
May:                                                                Fourth Feedback 
                                                                        End of May deadline research.
                                                                        Presentation to the Partner

Students who wish to cooperate, need to fulfil to a set of criteria.
